Newfypoos are the perfect choice of pup for families big and small. If you’re based in Connecticut and looking to adopt one of these beauties, you’ve come to the right place.

In this article, I’ll detail three breeders that deliver to the Connecticut area.

The breeders we’re covering are:

  1. Moore Family Newfoundlands & More
  2. Prize Poodles and Doodles
  3. Newfiedoodles

Ready? Let’s jump right in.

Newfypoo Breeders in CT

Surprisingly, I could not find any established Newfypoo breeders in Connecticut.

However, there are breeders located in other parts of the United States who may be able to provide a Newfypoo puppy.

These breeders can either deliver the puppy to you, or you can make a road trip to pick up your new pup.

I would imagine, given the rising popularity of Newfypoos, that breeders will start to pop up in Connecticut and nearby states.

1. Moore Family Newfoundlands & More

The Moore Family inhabits a large livestock farm in rural Virginia in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains.

They are committed to raising quality pups in a safe and loving environment.

Their all-hands-on-deck approach means that all family members (three generations!) are actively involved in caring for and socializing their puppies and looking after their breeding pairs.

Although not located in Connecticut, they offer delivery by car, or you can make a road trip to their location.

Raising Puppies

Raising puppies is a full-time occupation for the Moore Family, and all their litters are cared for in a home environment.

At birth, puppies are kept with their moms in a “puppy whelping” room, receiving special, constant attention and supervision from Day 1.

Once they are a few weeks old, they are moved to a “puppy nursery” where they can socialize, play, and learn from their litter mates and other puppies.

Constant supervision by the Moore Family means their puppies are well-adjusted and accustomed to human interaction, making them excellent family dogs once they are ready to be homed.

How much is a puppy from Moore Family Newfoundlands?

Newfypoos from Moore Family Newfoundlands cost between $2,500 and $3,500 depending on gender and coat color.

They charge a small additional fee for delivery, around $50 per driving hour (one-way).

Alternatively, you can collect your puppy at specified times from Monday to Saturday, which the family will arrange with you.

Application & Adoption Process

If you want to adopt a puppy from Moore Family Newfoundlands, complete a suitability questionnaire to establish if you are a good fit for their pups.

This includes questions about your home, children, and other pets, as well as about the color and gender preferences of your future canine companion.

References are requested for further vetting.

If your application checks out, you’ll be asked to pay a $200 non-refundable deposit which gains you a place on the Moore Family’s reservation list.

Depending on litter sizes and public demand, it can take up to 12 months to receive your Newfypoo puppy.

The Moore Family does not fly their puppies, but arrangements can be made for drop-off and collection, depending on your location.

Health Guarantee

All puppies are vet-checked by the Moore Family before joining their new homes to ensure they are healthy.

However, if your puppy has pre-existing health conditions after leaving the farm, they offer a one-year genetic health replacement warranty.

For this to be valid, buyers need to have their puppies checked by their vets within five days after purchase, and an initial vet report kept on record.

If, at any time during the puppy’s first year of life, it shows signs of heart issues or hip dysplasia that are proven to be terminal or genetic, the breeder must be informed immediately.

A detailed list of terms and conditions surrounding their health guarantee is provided upon purchase and discussed with new owners in-depth.

Moore Family Newfoundlands Reviews

Below are some reviews for Moore Family.

“We got Clancy (Tobi) last August. He is a Newfiedoodle and is a wonderful soul. We could tell that he was loved from birth. We met the family when they met us in Tennessee to pick Clancy up, but we had done our research beforehand.

The Moores love their dogs and are very conscious of health and proper breeding habits. Not only is Clancy well-adjusted, but he is 100% healthy at almost one year old. We have recommended the Moores to everyone that has asked about Clancy.”

“We are beyond delighted that we purchased our beautiful Belle from the Moore family . . . They helped so much through the entire process and even after.

They were very professional and heartfelt all at the same time! . . . Belle is such a sweetheart and extremely intelligent. She is an amazing companion for our children, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful and delightful puppy. Thank you so much!”

Prize Poodles and Doodles pride themselves on raising gorgeous, happy pups that are calm and intelligent and make great family companions.

All their breeding dogs are champion-bred and genetically tested to ensure optimum health down the line.

Based in the Kentucky countryside, their Newfypoos are raised on a secure smallholding in a home environment where they can safely socialize with humans and other animals.

They breed other types of Poodle mixes as well.

Raising Puppies

At Prize Poodles and Doodles, newborn puppies are first kept in a whelping room with their moms and later moved to a puppy nursery to socialize and interact with their littermates and human companions.

Exposure to other pups allows for excellent temperaments and socialization skills and ensures their puppies can seamlessly fit in with families with children and other animals.

Keeping their living environment clean and safe is a top priority, as is ensuring plenty of exercise and proper nutrition.

All puppies are vet-checked in their first weeks of life, and the breeders remain available for questions and guidance long after pups have been homed.

Puppy pricing is only available upon request but falls within the mid to high range, likely depending on coat markings and gender.

You may incur additional expenses for delivery.

You can also opt for an additional puppy training course for an extra $1,500.

Application and Adoption Process

To adopt a puppy from Prize Poodles and Doodles, you must complete an application form and pay a non-refundable $300 to secure a spot on the waiting list.

The application questions aim to establish if you are a good fit for a Newfypoo puppy and begin communication with the breeders.

Should you be approved for adoption, you’ll be assigned a litter and given information about how long you can expect to wait for your pup.

Their website offers a comprehensive puppy prep guide to get you ready to bring your pup home.

Health Guarantee

Prize Poodles and Doodles offer a full health guarantee which the breeders will discuss with you in detail.

Thorough vet-checking is standard for all puppies, but health issues are unlikely as their sires and dams are all champion breeders.

Prize Poodles and Doodles Reviews

“Hey all, I just wanted to brag on my Minnie. She’s a Newfypoo from Diamond and Phoenix’s litter from Nov 2014. She is now a certified Therapy Dog! We are volunteering at an elementary school – the kids look forward to her weekly visits. They line up to read to her!”

Caren A.

“My boyfriend picked up our amazing dog in May this year. He drove four hours one way to get him because we heard such wonderful things about them. I’ve always wanted a Newfoundland, and a Newfypoo offered an option that didn’t shed as much.

The adoption process was smooth, and when he picked Bruce up, he was able to check out the breeding facilities and meet the parents, both of which were clean, up-kept, and had very nice living conditions for both puppies and parents.

Bruce is now nine months old, and I couldn’t imagine life without him. I don’t regret a single cent we paid for him. He’s so intelligent and learns easily. He’s happy, loves everyone, and was very well-socialized even before we brought him home.”

3. Newfiedoodles

Decorative banner with red and grey colors featuring a Newfypoo dog and text next to it saying "Newfiedoodles".

Newfiedoodles is a third-party boutique breeder that raises one litter per year in a loving home environment from their sire Charlie and dam Bella.

They are partnered with Crockett Doodles, who handle their application administration and health guarantees.

Crockett Doodles uses guardian homes across the nation to create a network of Doodle breeders.

Raising Puppies

As Newfiedoodles only expect one litter per year, each puppy is well-socialized and kept with their parents in the home until they are ready for adoption.

Charlie and Bella, Newfiedoodles’ breeding pair, are well-aligned in temperament and athleticism, making for great puppies born in excellent health.

Believing that shipping is traumatic for puppies, Newfiedoodles offers several alternative collection and delivery options, including in-cabin flights with vetted puppy delivery services or a driving service.

How much is a puppy from Newfiedoodles?

The baseline price for a Newfiedoodles puppy ranges from $1,400 to $2,000. However, there are additional fees for female pups, wavy coats, and chocolate or multi-coloring.

That said, Newfiedoodles also offers discounts for veterans, emergency service workers, police personnel, teachers, and pastors.

Application & Adoption Process

To adopt a Newfiedoodles puppy, complete a comprehensive application form about your home life, family, and other pets.

If approved, a refundable $300 deposit secures your spot on their waiting list.

As Newfypoos are in high demand, wait times can be lengthy.

Do note that Newfiedoodles is a third-party supplier to Crockett Doodles, which handles and processes all applications in collaboration with the breeders.

Dealing with third-party suppliers can be tricky, so conducting thorough research on processes and refunds is good to avoid disappointment.

Should Newfiedoodles not have a puppy available, the breeder and Crockett Doodles have connections with other breeders who can assist.

Health Guarantee

Newfiedoodles offers a full health guarantee and vet checks.

Still, confirming details with the breeder once your application is approved is advisable, as minimal information is available on their website and their partnering website for Crockett Doodles.

Newfiedoodles Reviews

“There aren’t enough things that I can say about Crockett Doodles and the entire process. It was the easiest process ever, and everyone was very helpful in answering any and all questions that I had and eased my reservations about adopting.

From the beginning of the process to even after I got Memphis delivered and a couple of months afterward, they checked in to see how things were. He’s everything that I was promised and more . . . Thank you, Crockett Doodles.”
