Are you living in the Boston-area and looking for a Goldendoodle pup for your family?
Are you unsure where to start looking or are you sick of trying to sort out the best breeder?
Well, this guide was put together to help make your search easier. I’ve put together some information on the top three breeders near the Boston area. Check it out!
Top 3 Breeders Near Boston
The top three Goldendoodle breeders in the Boston area (in no particular order) are SS Goldendoodles, American Goldendoodle, and MA Doodles.
SS Goldendoodles sell both American and English Goldendoodles in various sizes ranging from mini to standard. They serve the New England, Hanover, and Massachusetts areas.
At the eight-week mark, they match their puppies with the best family to prevent their puppies from going to a local shelter.
They provide two different DNA tests that include over 150 results for potential genetic diseases and over 20 different results in their coat and color types. However, they did not list any other health information on or for their dogs and puppies.
Unfortunately, SS Goldendoodle’s website doesn’t go into too many details about raising one of their puppies. However, they do go into detail on what size and generation may be the best fit for you and your family. They recommend emailing them with any questions you may have.
A $500 deposit is required. The puppies cost $3800 and it does not say whether or not the deposit goes toward the total price.
You can pay with a cashiers/bank check or postal order check. They do also state on their homepage that they accept Cash App and Venmo.
They have a 4.5-star rating on Google. Most of their reviews are all 5 stars except for one from three years ago and don’t go into detail as to why they only provided them with a 1-star rating.
“Simply awesome experience, such a thoughtful and top-notch family and breeder. We couldn’t be happier with Pepper (Miss Green May 2018) A+ . . .”Brian C.
“We have nothing but good things to say about you ladies! So kind and helpful in this process. Purple – Maddie is doing great, we LOVE her so much. She’s feisty and lovable. She needs a little training to get her wild out but she’s just the best little pup, it has been a great experience for all of us!”Chrissy M.
SS Goldendoodle requires you to pay the $500 deposit and submit the adoption forms (found on their website) before filling out an application (also found on their website).

American Goldendoodle has over 30 years of experience as a breeder. They do not kennel their puppies and boast of raising them “the old-fashioned way” which allows the puppies to be well socialized and loving.
They are proud members of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and offer a “Heroes Program” honoring veterans and the sacrifices they have made.
They offer a “Written Money Back Health Guarantee” although, they do not go into details on what that all entails. If you have any questions feel free to give them a call.
The American Goldendoodle family understands life happens and sometimes you can no longer take care of your pet, they will take back your puppy or dog (age does not matter) at any time, no questions asked. They are also there for you whenever you need them for an unlimited time.
Sadly, their website does not go into detail on how much their puppies cost or if there is even a required deposit. Give them a call if you are interested in buying from them.
They have a 4.3-star rating on Google. One of their 5-star reviews says:
“We were so happy to find American Goldendoodle about 30 minutes from us. We had an easy and nice experience picking out our new puppy. He is so cute with a great personality. I would recommend to friends.”Lisa M.
However, not everyone thinks so highly of American Goldendoodle. Here is one of their not-so-happy reviews:
“Please do not do business with this person. Read the reviews, this is a puppy mill disguised as a legitimate breeder. I do not like to leave negative reviews as I am a business owner myself, but I almost got taken by this person. Things were not right from the start, didn’t know the date the puppies were supposed to be available, didn’t know how many were in the litter, couldn’t give me a picture of the puppies at any point in time. I left a deposit despite feeling a little weird about the transaction . . . Please share this review with everyone you can.”Troy M.
Sadly, several reviews on Google express similar disappointments.
You can find an application for one of their puppies on the “Contact Us” page found on their website.

MA Doodles are a Blue Ribbon Breeder. They are run by a family located in the Berkshires who once owned a Goldendoodle and knew they couldn’t go back to any other breed.
They offer a seven-day wellness guarantee, suggest a four-month puppy protection period, and offer a two-year health guarantee. For more information on each of these warranties, feel free to check out their website where you can find their contract and health guarantee document.
For the healthiest pup, they recommend keeping them home for four months or until they have completed their shots (around the 16-week mark).
Puppies are $3,000. There is an initial $300 deposit that goes toward the total amount. An additional $700 fee due on or before puppies are 6 weeks old, also goes toward the total amount.
MA Doodles has a 5-star Google rating. Their most recent review says:
“My girlfriend and I are so happy with our pup (Theo)! Dina did such a great job socializing him and providing us with many updates before him joining our family. I couldn’t recommend her more!”Omar B.
Fill out the Contact Us form at the bottom of the Home page and explain why you should be picked!
