Eight-year-old Emily was forced to live with her father and a cruel stepmother after her grandmother’s death.
She was made to work tirelessly around the house.
One day, while picking vegetables, Emily found a badly injured wolf cub.
Moved by pity, she took the cub home and nursed it back to health.
After a month, the cub recovered, and she released it back into the woods.
Before it left, the wolf seemed reluctant to go and even sniffed a scar on Emily’s hand as if it would remember her.
Years passed, and after her father’s death, her stepmother tried to marry her off to a man named Adam for a thousand-dollar dowry.
Emily ran away, but while escaping, she was confronted by a hungry old wolf.
Just as she thought all was lost, another wolf appeared and fought off the old one, saving her life.
The new wolf approached her, and when it smelled the scar on her hand, Emily realized it was the same cub she had rescued years ago.
Emily left and became successful.
Her stepmother and brother, however, tricked her into returning home by claiming her stepmother was sick and had a message from her deceased father.
When she returned, Emily discovered it was a trap to force her to marry Adam.
As her stepmother tried to stop her from leaving, the wolf suddenly appeared, frightening the stepmother and allowing Emily to escape for good.
The story concludes with Emily living a happy and confident life, running her own cleaning company.
