Best Whoodle Breeder in NJ

Despite the rising popularity of the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier-Poodle mix, there is one established breeder in New Jersey. I am confident this will change in the future as more breeders start to shift towards Doodle breeds.

Silver Nickel Puppies

Green and white decorative banner of silver nickel puppies breeder

Silver Nickel Puppies is a boutique puppy salon specializing in several different Doodle breeds. They sell Mini Whoodles, which makes them the go-to Mini Whoodle breeder in NJ.

They are located in Englewood, NJ, which is in the eastern part of the state.

Below are the driving distances to Silver Nickel from different cities in New Jersey:

  • 0.5 hour from Newark
  • 1 hour from Trenton
  • 2 hours from Atlantic City

Puppy Environment

Silver Nickel Puppies is a boutique shop and not a standard at-home breeder. They use a clean-air ventilation system in their facility so that their puppies breathe only purified air.

Their puppies are taken care of by a nanny. Each puppy gets plenty of playtime and socialization throughout the day. They are a small store and take pride that each puppy gets a lot of love and individual attention.

They work with local USDA-certified breeders. They do not buy from puppy mills or backyard breeders.

Each puppy receives a comprehensive veterinarian exam and is up to date on its vaccinations.

There is no price listed on their website for their Mini Whoodle puppies. If you are interested in an available pup, they ask that you call them or submit a contact form on their site.

They offer financing, which is unique amongst breeders. This could help if you do not want to pay the total price of a Whoodle puppy upfront. Based on my research, a Whoodle puppy can be upwards of $4,000.

Silver Nickel Puppies Reviews

“I had the best experience at Silver Nickel puppies. I purchased a [puppy] and he’s an absolute joy . . . He came with all his medical history as well his biological family tree. He’s in great health . . . I would definitely recommend Silver Nickel puppies. This establishment is professional and has excellent customer service.”

Enny P.

“From the moment I walked in this store I knew this would be the place I would purchase my puppy. As a first time dog owner I couldn’t be happier with my experience with Silver Nickel Puppies, they’re very clean, welcoming and gave me the reassurance I needed as a first time dog owner. I want to thank Elli in specific, for being so patient with my family and I and giving us all the information we need for our bundle of joy.”

Whoodle Breeders in Driving Distance of New Jersey

Sometimes the perfect pup is worth a drive! Throughout my years of dog ownership, I have driven to breeders all over the United States. The following Whoodle breeders are within a reasonable driving distance of New Jersey.

1. S’Wheaten Your Life Wheatens & Whoodles

S'wheaten your life wheatens and whoodles breeders

S’Wheaten Your Life Wheatens & Whoodles has been breeding puppies for 15 years. It is owned and operated by Holly Deffley.

Holly began breeding Wheaten Terriers after she fell in love with the breed while on summer vacation at the lake. She longed for a career focused on animals and realized this was her perfect chance.

She began breeding Wheatens in 2007. She has since expanded into other breeds such as Mini Whoodles, medium/standard Whoodles, and other Doodle breeds. She is a full-time puppy groomer, trainer, and caretaker. She has devoted her life to raising cute pups.

S’Wheaten Your Life is located in eastern Connecticut. It is within a reasonable driving distance to most of New Jersey:

  • 3.5 hours from Newark
  • 4.5 hours from Trenton
  • 5.5 hours from Atlantic City

Both the Poodle and Wheaten Terrier parents have been tested for breed-specific diseases. This ensures that no genetic disorders are passed down to the litter.

Each puppy is dewormed when they are two weeks old, four weeks old, and six weeks old. They are also microchipped and tested for any fecal parasites before they go to their new home.

They breed three types of Whoodles: mini, medium, and standard. No matter the size, the price ranges from $2,800-3,000 per puppy.

In order to reserve a puppy from a litter, a $500 non-refundable deposit is required.

Both of these programs, combined with love and affection, leave each puppy confident and fully ready to take on the world!

4. Winsome Wheatens

Green and white decorative banner of winsome wheatens breeder

Winsome Wheatens is a family-run breeder. They are a family of eight and have been breeding Wheaten Terriers for over 15 years. Their love for Wheatens was sparked by a chance encounter with a pup named Snickers. The rest was history.

As you know, the Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier is a parent breed to the lovely Whoodle. The Bradford family took a liking to this cute new mix. They’ve been breeding Whoodles for over the past five years.

They breed medium Whoodles and Mini Whoodles.

General Care

The Bradford family raises each puppy with love and care. Each puppy comes with booster shots and deworming. They encourage families to go and check out their location.

Shipping Details

The great part about Winsome Wheatens is that you don’t have to make that long drive from New Jersey. They offer shipping for around $375. The process is handled by a third-party company called Airbound Pets.

They charge $1,500 for a Whoodle puppy. They don’t change prices based on gender, size, or color.

Winsome Wheatens Reviews

“Ted is a Winsome “Whoodle” that we adopted at 7 months old. He has been a pure joy and has completed our family. Winsome Wheatens were very accommodating during the transport of getting him all the way to Indiana. We will continue to stay in touch and up to date on future litters in the event we ever want our family to grow some more!”

Amber S.

“Totally recommend Winsome Wheatens! Had our baby shipped to Northern California two months ago. We went with one of her older Whoodle pups now 7 months old. He is so sweet, funny and loves lots of belly rubs. Susanna was so easy to work with when narrowing down our pick out of 3 males. We will definitely get out next dog from this breeder.”
